A quick reminder today that 6 of the Filton 24 (their names above) are now on hunger strike.
They have been held on remand in prison, in very harsh conditions, since August last year, for their alleged involvement in the attack on the Israeli arms company Elbit Systems.
A further 6 are on trial this week in Woolwich Crown Court. They face charges of aggravated burglary, criminal damage and violent disorder, with one defendant facing an additional charge of GBH.
None has been charged with terrorism offences — despite Palestine Action having been proscribed as a terrorist organisation.
For me, personally, they remind us, every single day, of exactly what is still going on.
- The genocide in Gaza goes on, with hundreds of innocent people killed since the ceasefire on October 10th. Food and medical aid are still not getting through.
- The starvation goes on. The collective punishment goes on. After heavy rains, the situation for hundreds of thousands of women and children surviving in makeshift tents is utterly desperate.
- Levels of violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank have worsened massively since the ceasefire, with both illegal settlers and the Israeli Defence Forces acting with total impunity.
- And still our Government does nothing – other than signing yesterday’s UN Security Resolution 28O3 setting up an International Stabilisation Force for Gaza. This itself is an absolute abomination, creating ‘a board of peace’ chaired by Donald Trump, which will not be bound by any past UN resolutions.
- Instead, the Government continues to cover up its direct complicity in this continuing genocide by arresting all those campaigning both to have the ban on Palestine Action (proscribed as a terrorist organisation) lifted, and to end the genocide in Gaza.
- A further 230 were arrested yesterday, in 10 towns and cities, for holding up signs in support of the campaign by Defend Our Juries to Lift the Ban. Further actions are planned through to November 29th, with Palestine Action’s Appeal against its proscription being heard in the High Court on the 25-27th November.

It all goes on. And on.
